Purpose:

The Indiana Fire Chiefs Association Technical Rescue Section’s Technical Committee has secured a Grant to produce and conduct a Rescue Awareness Level Training Program designed to provide firefighters, and/or public safety officials, within the ten IDHS districts of the state, an opportunity for consistent, quality training at the local level without creating a burden on the individual to travel to receive training.

Overview:

The Technical Rescue Awareness Level training program is designed to deliver a 12-hour instructional (no practical skills included) program that will provide Awareness Level Training in all seven Technical Rescue categories.

Certification:

Attendees may apply for a variance for State Certification in all seven disciplines provided they have Hazmat Awareness certification. All variance paperwork will be done at the end of the class and be submitted with the class roster. All students, who pass the course, will receive a certificate of attendance for this class. This program meets NFPA 1670 requirements for the Awareness Level, provided students have met the prerequisites.
